# Privacy Policy

## Content

Last updated: October 18, 2026

Neighbor For Hire respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use neighborforhire.com and our services.

## 1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, phone number, account details, listing information, messages, and booking or transaction details. We also collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location, and pages visited.

When you arrive from an ad or another website, we note where you came from (for example the ad campaign name, or the click ID that Google, Meta, Microsoft or TikTok adds to the link) and save it with your account or order if you sign up or buy. This tells us which marketing works.

## 2. How we use information

We use information to provide and improve our services, create and manage accounts, connect customers with local providers, process bookings and payments, send service-related messages, measure how our site and our ads perform, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

## 3. What other users can see

When you book a provider, that provider sees your name, the job details and the service address. Your phone number and email are not shared unless you share them. Provider listings, including business name, service area, rates and reviews, are public.

## 4. Sharing of information

We share information with service providers who help us operate the site: hosting, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, analytics (Google Analytics) and, when we run ads, advertising platforms. We also share information with other users where needed to complete a booking, and with authorities when required by law.

We do not sell personal information for money. When advertising cookies or pixels are in use, some of the information they collect may count as “sharing” for targeted advertising under California law. You can opt out at any time on our [Your privacy choices](/opt-out-preferences/) page.

## 5. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used and improve performance.

- **Analytics.** We use Google Analytics to count visits and actions such as calls, directions taps, sign-ups and purchases. Google’s own policy explains how it uses this data: [How Google uses information from sites that use its services](https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). You can also install [Google’s opt-out add-on](https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
- **Advertising.** When we run ads (for example on Google, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok), those platforms may use cookies or pixels to tell us whether an ad led to a visit or sign-up, and to show our ads to people who have visited the site.
- **Your choices.** Use the cookie banner or the [Your privacy choices](/opt-out-preferences/) page to turn off non-essential cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though disabling some may affect how the site works.

## 6. Data retention and security

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

## 7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

## 8. California privacy rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you these rights:

- **Know and access** the personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes and who we share it with.
- **Delete** personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- **Correct** inaccurate personal information.
- **Opt out of sale or sharing** of personal information for targeted advertising, on our [Your privacy choices](/opt-out-preferences/) page.
- **Not be discriminated against** for using any of these rights.

In the last 12 months we have collected these categories: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address), customer records and commercial information (bookings, plans and payments, processed by Stripe), internet activity (pages visited and actions on the site), approximate location, and professional information that providers put on their listings. We use them for the purposes in section 2. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

To make a request, email [info@neighborforhire.com](mailto:info@neighborforhire.com?subject=California%20privacy%20request) or use our [contact page](/contact/). We will verify your request using the email or phone number on your account and respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that they are authorized to act for you.

## 9. Deleting your account and data

If you signed up or logged in using a social account (such as Google or Facebook), disconnecting that login does not delete your Neighbor For Hire account on its own.

To delete your account and the personal information associated with it, email [info@neighborforhire.com](mailto:info@neighborforhire.com?subject=Delete%20my%20account) with the subject line “Delete my account” from the email address on your account, or reach us through our [contact page](/contact/). Please include your name and the email or phone number your account is registered under so we can locate it.

We will delete your account and personal information within 30 days of a verified request, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as transaction, tax, or fraud-prevention records) for legal or accounting purposes. Public listing content you’ve posted will be removed or anonymized as part of this process.

## 10. Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Accounts require you to be at least 18.

## 11. Third-party links

The site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies separately.

## 12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new date.
