Refund Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
This Refund Policy applies to services booked through Neighbor for Hire, a marketplace connecting customers with local freelancers and service providers. It also applies to paid listing, claim, advertising, and featured-placement services purchased by businesses.
1. Marketplace services
Neighbor for Hire is a marketplace. Freelancers and service providers are generally independent businesses, and the provider is responsible for delivering the booked service as described in the listing.
Customers should first contact the service provider promptly if a service is cancelled, materially different from the listing, not delivered, or otherwise has a problem. Refund requests should be submitted within 7 days of the scheduled service or the date the issue became known, whichever is later.
2. When a refund may be available
After reviewing the relevant information, Neighbor for Hire may approve a full or partial refund when a service was not provided, was cancelled by the provider without an agreed replacement, or materially failed to match the listing. Refunds are not guaranteed for change of mind, failure to attend, inaccurate customer information, unsafe or unlawful requests, or disputes about the quality of work that were not reported promptly.
3. Provider cancellations and disputes
Providers should communicate cancellations and attempted resolutions directly with customers. Neighbor for Hire may request booking details, messages, photographs, receipts, or other information and may make a final marketplace decision based on the available evidence. This policy does not replace any rights you may have under applicable law.
4. Paid listings, claims, advertising, and featured placement
Fees for claiming a listing, paid listings, advertising, and featured placement are for digital marketplace and promotional services. Unless required by law or expressly stated at checkout, these fees are non-refundable once the service has been activated, published, or delivered. If a paid feature has not been activated because of a technical error attributable to Neighbor for Hire, contact us promptly so we can investigate and, where appropriate, provide a correction, credit, or refund.
5. Subscription and recurring charges
If a paid plan renews automatically, you may cancel before the next renewal date through your account or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future charges but normally does not refund the current billing period, except where required by law or stated at checkout.
6. Processing refunds
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method when possible. Your payment provider may require additional processing time. We may issue a credit or other remedy where permitted and appropriate.
7. Contact
For a refund request, include your name, account email, booking or payment reference, and a clear explanation of the issue. Contact information should be kept current on the website.
This policy is a general business draft and should be reviewed for compliance with the laws applicable to your business and customers before publication.
