Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 21, 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Neighbor for Hire, an online marketplace where customers can discover and book local freelancers and service providers, and where businesses may claim listings, advertise, and purchase featured placement.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using Neighbor for Hire, creating an account, booking a service, claiming a listing, or purchasing a paid feature, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or services.
2. Marketplace role
Neighbor for Hire provides an online platform and does not itself provide, supervise, or guarantee the services offered by independent providers. A listing, review, verification label, ranking, or featured placement is not a guarantee of quality, legality, availability, safety, or performance. Customers and providers are responsible for evaluating one another and agreeing on the scope, price, schedule, and requirements of each service.
3. Accounts and accurate information
You must provide accurate information, keep your account secure, and promptly update information that changes. You may not impersonate another person or business, create misleading accounts, or share account access in a way that creates risk or violates these Terms.
4. Bookings and payments
Booking terms, pricing, availability, cancellation arrangements, and deliverables should be confirmed between the customer and provider. You authorize the applicable payment provider to process charges you approve. Additional payment, cancellation, or refund terms may appear at checkout and form part of the transaction.
5. Business listings and paid features
Businesses may claim listings only when they are authorized to represent the business. Businesses are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their listing information, images, offers, contact details, and claims.
Paid listing, advertising, claim, and featured-placement services may improve visibility but do not guarantee views, leads, bookings, search position, sales, or customer results. Neighbor for Hire may label paid placement and may change, pause, reject, or remove promotional content that violates these Terms or applicable law. Fees, renewal terms, and cancellation rules are shown at checkout and are also governed by the Refund Policy.
6. Reviews and user content
You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant Neighbor for Hire a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, and distribute it as necessary to operate and promote the platform. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences and may not contain false, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, private, or unlawful material, or content submitted in exchange for an undisclosed benefit.
7. Prohibited conduct
You may not use the platform for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, discrimination, spam, scraping, malware, unauthorized access, fake bookings or reviews, price manipulation, infringement of third-party rights, or any activity that creates unreasonable risk to users or the platform.
8. Safety and responsibility
Users are responsible for their own safety, screening, communications, property, taxes, licenses, insurance, permits, and compliance with applicable laws. Do not share sensitive information unnecessarily. If a situation appears unsafe or unlawful, stop the interaction and report it through the contact method provided on the website.
9. Intellectual property
Neighbor for Hire and its original software, design, branding, and content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, sell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit them.
10. Third-party services
The platform may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and Neighbor for Hire is not responsible for their operation or content.
11. Suspension and termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access, remove content, or cancel a paid feature when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, address abuse, comply with law, or maintain the platform. Provisions that by their nature should continue will survive termination.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the platform is provided on an as-available basis, without warranties not expressly stated in these Terms. Neighbor for Hire is not responsible for the acts, omissions, services, content, payments, disputes, or losses arising from interactions between users. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold harmless Neighbor for Hire and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your content, misuse of the platform, violation of these Terms, or dealings with another user.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a revised date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.
15. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the applicable law and dispute-resolution rules of the jurisdiction identified in your business registration or checkout disclosures. If no jurisdiction is identified, obtain legal advice and add the correct governing-law, venue, and contact provisions before publishing.
This is a general business draft and is not legal advice. Have a qualified attorney review it, especially the governing law, privacy, consumer-protection, payment, tax, insurance, and marketplace requirements applicable to your location.
